The new ISO Class 6 Cleanroom at Valeo Vision Tuam has been completed on time and handed over to the Client.

Contract signing for the new Fire Station in Tuam, Co Galway which took place last week in County Hall, Galway.  We look forward to working with our partners Simon J Kelly & Partners, Peter F Costello & Partners, Ryan Hanley Consulting Engineers, Don O’Malley & Partners, OLM Consultancy and Galway County Council.  Works will commence before the end of November 2017.

We have been successful in our tender for refurbishment and fit out works for Cancer Care West, Seamus Quirke Road, which include the fit out of the existing shell to include Consultation Rooms, WC’s, Kitchenette, Office and Storage at Second floor level and the subdivision of existing rooms into offices, on the First Floor level.

Following on from  a competitive tendering process we are delighted to be working with Galway Co Council on the construction of a new Fire Station.  The station will incorporate four appliance bays with associated ancillary accommodation, car parking and training facilities, five storey training tower, training yard, signage and associated site works on a greenfield site located adjoining the Milltown Road (N17) in Tuam, Co. Galway.   Works are due to commence at the end of November with project completion due within 9 months.

Works are ongoing in Ballynahinch Castle Hotel with site set up, enabling works and demolitions complete.  Foundations are in for the new Building and we are preparing for hollowcore to the first floor.  Work is on programme.

The official opening by Taoiseach Enda Kenny of the new Connemara Visitors Centre took place last week in Rosmuc. Carey’s are delighted to have been involved in the Project which was part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme. The visitor centre celebrates the cultural wealth of the Gaeltacht, the heritage of the region and the beautiful landscape of Connemara through a series of exhibitions and displays.

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D. “turned the sod” last Thursday on the development of a new state of the art Interventional Cardiology Suite at Bon Secours Hospital Galway. The new unit will treat patients requiring procedures such as Angiography, Cardiac Angioplasty and Electrophysiology including the insertion of Cardiac Pacemakers. Carey’s are delighted to be working with Hospital Management in order to provide the additional services for Galway.

Carey Building Contractors have been successful in their Tender for the construction of a 545m2 single storey extension with a 245m2 Plantroom at roof level to the Radiology Department for a new Interventional Cardiology and Radiology facilities at the Bon Secours Hospital in Galway. The works will include a 37m2 single storey MV switch room extension in the existing plant yard, and ancillary and associated works.  Works have commenced on site.

Carey Building Contractors have been successful in their tender for the Refurbishment and Extension to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Castlebar, Co Mayo.   The project entails demolitions of two wards and the construction of a new two storey extension to include 74 bedrooms and associated support and ancillary accommodation.  Construction is due to commence shortly.

Carey Building Contractors have been awarded the contract for the erection and completion of a new 8 Classroom and GP Hall National School complete with play yard space, siteworks and drainage in na bhForbacha, Co Galway.  We will be working alongside  Niamh Kearns Architect, Noel Farrell QS, Tobin Engineers and Heavy Kenny Associates.  Work is due to commence on site shortly.

Carey Building Contractors have been awarded the contract to construct a single story Visitors Building of approximately 500 sqm in Rosmuc, Co Galway incorporating Reception, Exhibition, Educational, Meeting and Café areas.  The Project also includes a walkway linking the Visitor’s Centre to a woodland Pavilion Building and Pearse’s Cottage.  It includes all associated site works.

We have been awarded the contract by the HSE for a single story extension to the existing Endoscopy Unit at Mayo General Hospital to provide the upgrade of Decontamination facilities and associated accommodation, new ductwork, plant and plant room on the first floor ward roof, and all associated site works. Works commenced on site this week.

Upgrade works are ongoing at the Martin Ryan Marine Institute Campus in Carna.  The works consist of upgrade works to the existing seawater intake and the post process effluent infrastructure associated with the fish processing carried out at the facility.

Carey Building Contractors have been awarded the HIQA Registration Works at Galway, Mayo and Roscommon for the HSE West.

Works involve the refurbishment & upgrading of 108 bedrooms, ensuites, bathrooms, office space laundries, ancillary accommodation & the construction of medical gas plantrooms of three Community Nursing home units in Carraroe, Claremorris & Westport.

Works commenced in March and will be 9 months in duration.

The Contract for a new High Dependency Unit & Associated works at Bon Secours Hospital, Galway has been secured by Carey Building Contractors.

The Project which will commence shortly is an endorsement of the experience and expertise that  the Carey Management team have gained within the Medical and Hospitals Sector.  We look forward to working with the Design Team and Bon Secours personnel in providing the new Unit for Galway.

Carey Building Contractors have been successful in their Tender for an extension to the existing Podiatry Suite in Merlin Park Hospital. The works will include a Basement, Building services plant, Day bed area, Operating theatre, Utility, Preparation rooms and associated facilities.  The proposed new build is 2 storeys with a link formed between the existing building and the new building.  External works will include all civil works, new gas and electrical connections, new access road, parking spaces, loading bay, new paths and landscape finishes and courtyard to the front of the Building.

Works are continuing on site at Ashford Castle, Cong, Co Mayo completing an accelerated 20 week programme for the refurbishment of 19 Bedrooms, Kitchen and Dining Area, Bar and Lounge, Front of House and Reception area within the Castle.  Works also include external landscaping and road realignment.

Works commenced today when the first sod was turned on the new build for  Children with Cystic Fibrosis at Galway University Hospitals.  Marian Keane and her mother Maureen Fitzhenry kindly donated the proceeds of the sale of a house bequeathed to then to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland for the purpose of building a unit for children with Cystic Fibrosis.  As this was such a magnanimous thing to do RTE 1 featured the sod-turning on the 6 O’Clock news.
