Job Description.
The Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Advisor will be part of the Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Team and will report directly to the HSEQ Manager. They will maintain and enhance the Environmental Health & Safety, Quality Management systems of the company. This role will be office and site based.
Salary is negotiable based on experience. Company pension after probation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the established ISO 14001 Environmental Management accreditation and the established ISO 9001 Quality accreditation ISO 45001 Environmental accreditation.
- Liaise with on-site and office-based management team to ensure Environmental and Quality policies and procedures are established and implemented as necessary.
- Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Subcontractor’s RAMS
- Record Quality and Environmental statistics and provide monthly reports on live construction sites.
- Conduct toolbox talks and other environmental training with relevant employees and sub-contractors as necessary.
- Conduct Environmental site audits across live sites (predominantly Co. Galway)
- Review and record environmental and quality performance on completed projects.
- Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to review and record ‘green procurement’.
- Assist in development of supply chain management methods and tracking systems.
- Review and report sustainable approach and ‘green construction’ strategy within the Company.
- Assist in review of material selection and procurement process.
- Review and develop strategies in relation to day-to-day running of the Company i.e. review energy usage, fuel consumption.
- Monitor the Health & Safety Management System on assigned Company Projects.
- Complete Construction Safety Plans for each new Project and Liaise with Project Managers to compile Method Statements.
- Assist in the development of task specific RAMS
- Monitor and obtain Subcontractors Health & Safety documentation.
- Maintain company training matrix and organise training when required
- Liaise with PSDP & Clients, Contractors & Design Team.
- Carry out site audits and advise on appropriate corrective action.
- Investigate accidents & near misses where required.
- Liaise with the H.S.A, Councils & other Agencies where required.
- Complete Environmental, Health & Safety prequalification Questionnaires.
- Administer and maintain all Safety Records for sites and employees.
- Organise testing and maintain records of Plant and lifting equipment.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience:
- Third level qualification (Level 8) in Environmental or similar is required.
- Environmental and Quality experience is required.
- On-site experience desirable
- Proficient in MS Word and knowledge of excel.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Positive and pro-active approach to undertaking tasks
- Eye for detail and excellent presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise
