Client: HSE West – University Hospital Galway
Project Description: The proposed works will provide facilities to the hospital campus for infection control measures that will help ‘future proof’ the maternity hospital in respect of aspergillosis prevention measures. The project entailed the installation of supply air/air transfer to patients in both St Angela’s and St Rita’s wards.
St Angelas ward has 11 patient areas whilst St Ritas ward provides 4 patient ward rooms and 4 ancillary rooms. The air handling units provide tempered, cooled and filtered fresh air to the patients and staff. The heated air temperature to both wards is controllable via a temperature sensor.
